Convergence Energy Partners With Helios USA

Convergence Energy plans 2011 solar installations using Wisconsin-based Helios USA solar panels.

LAKE GENEVA, Wisconsin (February 16, 2011) — Convergence Energy, a full-service provider of solar energy products, is pleased to announce its partnership with Helios USA, a leading manufacturer of high-performance mono-crystalline solar modules for use in solar electric systems.

With a number of ongoing installations, including Convergence Energy’s innovative solar farm in Walworth County Wisconsin, Convergence Energy plans to use Helios USA as its primary source for solar panels.
“Partnering with Helios USA is a natural fit for Convergence Energy,” said Thomas B. Martin, CEO of Convergence Energy. “The energy output of Helios panels is higher than normal per square foot resulting in greater panel performance. We are committed to working with manufacturers who produce innovative, financially smart solar products for both our commercial and residential installations.”

The Convergence Energy solar farm is open land with large tracking arrays of solar panels. These arrays are motorized so that they follow the sun as it moves from east to west daily (and north to south with the seasons). “As a result solar PV panels on a solar farm can be more efficient than in some on-building installations”, said Jim Miller, Convergence Energy’s VP of Engineering. “When you couple tracking with the high output of Helios panels you have key ingredients to approach state-of-the-art design”, Miller noted.

“We are very pleased to be working with a customer-focused solar innovator like Convergence Energy,” said Steve Ostrenga, CEO of Helios USA. “Our objective is to produce the highest quality, most advanced solar panels in the market. Partnerships help us gain and maintain technological leadership” he elaborated.

First shipments of Helios photovoltaic panels to Convergence Energy are expected to occur in late February.

Because of its wide array of use, solar panels are used in residential and commercial building. Architects are incorporating in in the designs to build “green” buildings. It is more economical and even helps the environment.
